Junior Phoenix

KWGBA is happy to announce that our JUNIOR PHOENIX program is expanding!

Junior Phoenix is intended to be a bridge between our very successful Jr. NBA program and our rep program. The plan is for it to provide girls born from 2012-2016 who have completed one or two sessions of Jr. NBA (or something similar) with a more advanced program.

There will be two options this year for Junior Phoenix – a Wednesday evening program and a Saturday program. Both programs are for girls born from 2012-2016. We prefer that girls have some basketball experience to join this program. The programs will be coached by pairs of former KWGBA players – Mikaela and Mackenzie White (Wednesday sessions); and Emily Moore and Asha Brown (Saturday sessions).

All girls will be provided with a KWGBA Phoenix reversible pinnie to wear for practices and games. The cost will be $200 for the season (Sept-Apr). Players may participate in either program, but not both (pending registration numbers). Please pick the program that works best for your schedule.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT JUNIOR PHOENIX

Training will take place once a week at Sandowne Public School – 265 Sandowne Drive Waterloo. It will start on Wednesday, September 27th (6:30 pm to 8:00 pm) and run until April, excluding Christmas and March Break. There will be one game scheduled per month on a Saturday morning for the girls that are available to play.

SATURDAY JUNIOR PHOENIX

Training will take place once a week at Centennial Public School – 141 Amos Avenue, Waterloo. It will start on Saturday, September 23rd (11:15 am to 12:45 pm) and run until April, excluding long weekends, Christmas and March Break. There will be games scheduled some weeks. The coaches will be working on finding exhibition games for the girls. There will be scrimmages throughout the season to prepare the girls for game situations.
