Junior Phoenix
REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026-2027 JUNIOR PHOENIX PROGRAM WILL OPEN ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th
** OUR JUNIOR PHOENIX PROGRAM IS FOR GIRLS BORN IN 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 or 2019 who have had some previous basketball training.
JUNIOR PHOENIX is intended to be a bridge between our very successful Jr. NBA program and our equally successful KWGBA Phoenix rep teams.
We will be running two Junior Phoenix sessions again this year. JP will be available on Wednesday night at Empire Public School — 83 Empire Street, Waterloo and Thursday night at Margaret Ave Public School — 325 Louisa Street, Kitchener. Both sessions will run 6:30pm to 8:00pm from September to April. The cost for Junior Phoenix is $225.
The girls will be provided a KWGBA reversible pinnie to wear to practices and any games. They will be expected to supply their own size 5 basketball. Full details regarding how this program runs changes as the season progresses and will be based on the number of girls and skill level in each group. Coaches will provide details at the first practice but note that this is a skill development program and not intended to be a house league. We do expect to have some games between the two JP teams but not until the coaches feel they are ready — so it may not be until after the New Year.
**If your daughter intends to try out for our U10, U11 or U12 rep team but would like to be part of the Junior Phoenix program if she doesn’t make the rep team, we suggest you register and pay for her to be a part of the Junior Phoenix program now to hold her spot. If she does make the rep team we will be happy to transfer the Junior Phoenix payment to the appropriate rep team registration.
